In my browser, the "Display intranet sites in Compatibility View" -checkbox is disabled and I cannot turn it on. Why is it disabled and how can I turn it on? By disabled I mean the checkbox is grayed out, so it cannot be enabled.
You could probably determine which registry entry this policy sets, and if you have permission change it on your computer via RegEdit. But, if it is controlled by GP it will get reset the next time the group policy refreshes about once an hour.
This will uncheck the checkbox, but it still remains disabled. I haven't found a way to control the checkbox state yet, but this at least allows you to control whether it is checked or not. By turning on Compatibility View, you can help fix display problems on sites. See if the Compatibility View button appears in the address bar. If you don't see the button, there's no need to turn on Compatibility View.

Jim you can use the F10 button on your keyboard to show the menu bar in Internet Explorer 11 to see the Favorites menu for bookmarking.
Alternatively you can just use the star-shaped icon in the top right corner to bring up the Favorites side bar menu. Its very urgent hope to cherish some of your thoughts here. I have some functionaltiy which supports IE 10 and above so basically is it possible to control the compatibility mode through meta tags. Basicaaly i want to alert a usert with a pop up if IE version i 8 or less I want to show this pop up whether compatabilty mode is on or off. However, I close IE and when I open it up, there are no websites listed. What am I missing? IE compatibility mode was first created by Microsoft because when IE8 was first released, many Web sites that were written for IE7 did not work correctly in the new browser. Microsoft continued to support compatibility mode in later versions of IE, in order to always have a fall-back plan so that IE could display old web sites that would not display properly in a modern web browser. However, Lottery Post is specifically created with modern web browsers in mind, so if you have IE compatibilty mode turned on, it will actually hurt the ability for Lottery Post to function correctly, and with all the features available.
Even if you do not notice problems in IE, or if you have not received warning messages, it is a good idea to check and be sure that IE compatibilty mode is turned off. Press the Alt key on your keyboard to display the menu. Then, from the Tools menu, select Compatibility View Settings.
Then click the Close button. Press F12 to show the Developer Tools window. If they do not say that exactly , then change them to those settings. That should do it! You should no longer receive the IE warning messages, and your Internet Explorer is set to its optimal compatibility mode settings for Lottery Post. The introduction of Internet Explorer 10 caused compatibility issues with some websites and web-based applications, so Microsoft built in the Compatibility Mode to allow the browser to utilize older browser rendering rules.
E-Claim has addressed these incompatibility issues and therefore the Compatibility Mode is not necessary. If you currently have Compatibility View enabled, you will see the Compatibility View button in your address bar. If this icon is blue, this means that Compatibility View is turned on.

I think there must be some reason the keys are not being sent correctly: This is not showing the toolbar or anything it is as though it were being ignored. Under Browsing history, select Delete.
