Get App. Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata's hit manga series Death Note is a supernatural crime thriller that challenges the reader with questions about morality and crime. It has inspired all kinds of media, such as live-action Japanese and American films, stage dramas, spin-off novels, and, of course, an anime series.

While it's easy to dismiss Matsuda as the comic relief who's just there to make everyone else look good, he's a fully developed character like the rest, and he's had his moments of glory. It's time to shed light on this overlooked character and see what makes him who he is.

This is probably Touta Matsuda's single most defining characteristic: he's not uptight and straight-laced like Soichiro Yagami is. Of course, Matsuda wears a proper suit and tie to w0rk, but "the clothes make the man" outlook only goes so far.

He likes to make funny comments and treat the other detectives like they're his roommates or friends rather than co-workers, and everyone else really just puts up with it. Well, there has to be a class or office clown in every office, doesn't there? This is a minor but distinct advantage that Matsuda can use in the line of duty. Soichiro is all business, all the time, but Matsuda has a relaxed and friendly air that allows him to integrate into any crowd, despite being a police officer.

When Light went to Aoyama for the investigation, Matsuda volunteered to come, since he could easily blend in with a crowd of college students and act and think like one of them. L agreed, and Matsuda later got the job done. Another of Matsuda's more flattering traits is that he is a highly empathetic person who is quick to feel sorry for others and understand their point of view.

But there can only be one absolute winner…and there is. L's IQ may be lower than Light's but his deduction skills, planning and eye for detail far surpass Kira's. Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking reportedly scored '"only" Therefore it is reasonable to assume Light and L are a tier below them.

Since they are both certainly geniuses, I would put their IQs between and , with being the benchmark for a genius. Despite those low odds he gives his comrades, he still refuses to give up on Light as a suspect. Because of that, there are now fifteen characters that can outsmart just about anyone that anime fans should know about.

Kira is both the antihero and a villain. By the definition given in Ankit's answer he is an antihero being not really a hero, but still the main character. By the evil he has done murder of innocents and even enjoying it, examples in Amira's answer he is a villain.

Light Yagami is one of the smartest characters in Death Note. In fact, he's one of the smartest characters in all of anime. There aren't too many characters that could out smart the mastermind known as Kira, but this list shows some who can. Who is matsuda in death note? By following L's instructions, Matsuda gains the trust of the company's board members, fabricates his death he uses the alias Taro Matsui so that Yotsuba members can not kill him , and serves as a temporary decoy to lure the suspect into the Sakura television studio during the second Sakura TV incident.

Matsuda sees Soichiro as his mentor. While it is clear that most of the investigation team views Kira as a an evil criminal, Matsuda often wonders if Kira is performing good deeds, especially since more and more people seem to be agreeing with what he does. Matsuda proves to be somewhat supportive and sympathetic towards Kira's followers nonetheless. Source: Wikipedia Voice Actors. Naitou, Ryou Japanese. Tong, Vincent English.
